FAQS
ARRIVAL
What should I wear?
Please come in whatever you feel comfortable wearing. Our most formal members wear “business casual,” while our least-formal attendees wear jeans and T-shirts. We want you to be comfortable to worship God with us in whatever that means to you.
Where can I park?
As a guest to Marlow FUMC, we have special designated “Sunday Guest” parking spaces directly in front of the main entrance steps facing Main Street, directly across from the Marlow High School Auditorium.
Where do I go once I have parked?
For Sunday worship, please go into our Main Building which houses our Sanctuary. The main entrance for this building directly faces Main Street. There is also an elevator entrance to this building on the West-side Entrance of the Main Building.
For Children’s Ministries, please go to the Upper Level of the Main Building, which is located just up the stairs in the West Foyer of the Sanctuary.
If you need any assistance finding your way, one of our Sunday ushers will be happy to direct you.
CHILDREN/YOUTH
What should I do with my children?
We believe in family-style worship so your children are more than welcome to worship with you. However, we do have a Nursery available for children 5 years old and younger. If you are participating in our worship for the first time, please arrive 10 minutes early so that we may walk you through the check-in process. When you arrive, stop by the Nursery, located in the West Foyer of the Sanctuary. At the Nursery, you will meet our caring nursery staff and volunteers and receive information about our check-in process.
Marlow FUMC offers a full-range of children’s ministry options for kids from birth through 5th grade. For more information on the Marlow FUMC Children’s Ministries, visit the Children’s Ministry page.

WORSHIP SERVICES
What type of worship services do you offer?
On Sunday mornings, Marlow FUMC offers two services, a contemporary worship (9 am) and a traditional worship (10:45 am).
The contemporary worship (9 am) is more relaxed in atmosphere called SonLight. SonLight focuses on informal and intimate worship that the whole family can enjoy. The service has an emphasis on praise, prayer, and teaching scripturally based from the Revised Common Lectionary. We offer Holy Communion every Sunday during this service around 9:30am, all are welcome to receive communion regardless of membership or baptism.
During the traditional worship (10:45 am), sermons are scripturally based on the Revised Common Lectionary. We sing hymns in a vibrant manner, led by Director of Music Ministries Scott Vaughn, Pianist Ted Robinson, and our Chancel Choir. We celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of the month, all are welcome to receive communion regardless of membership or baptism.
What will I be expected to do during a worship service?
- First, we promise you won’t be embarrassed or pressured to give money or to join the church, so relax and focus on experiencing worship.
- We’ll be singing songs to express our love for God, and the words will be on the screens for you to sing along if you would like.
- You may also see Christian sacraments, such as baptism or communion, and we’ll be sure to explain what they mean so you won’t feel out of the loop. We will also have any important text on the screens to follow along.
- Our teaching pastor will share a relevant message to enable you to discover truths from the Bible that help you see life from God’s point of view. We encourage you to take notes, if you would like. At the end of the service, you’ll have an opportunity to respond to the message in a variety of ways, if you so desire.
- Worship is about an hour so you’ll be ready to go pick up your little ones, meet new friends for lunch, or just head home for that afternoon nap.
